Our 2025 Ski & Ride Grand Marshall
Meet Sawyer!
Sawyer, 14, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in late 2023, which led to several long stays at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital for treatment. During this difficult period, we were able to provide the family with gas and grocery cards to help ease their burden. Sadly, Sawyer eventually underwent an above-knee amputation. He missed a significant amount of school and various extracurricular sporting events due to extensive treatment and surgery. To boost Sawyer’s spirits, our Seeds of Hope team organized a mobile game truck and pizza party for him and his friends. A few months later, we were thrilled to learn that Sawyer had received his prosthetic leg. When we found out that he had been gifted tickets to a Kansas City Chiefs game, we were happy to contribute towards his travel expenses so he could cheer on his favorite team. It has been a great joy for our Oregon Seeds of Hope team to support the Bizon family over the past twelve months.
